Come and enjoy a banquet created from surplus food donated by local suppliers and critical cinema that offers alternative ideas. This month's fusing topic focuses on Dencentralised Energy & Energy Cooperatives. Throughout the day of May 11th you can join in on a delicious dinner and connect with others interested in environmental issues! Ideas to mule over include how to operate a successful energy cooperative, how can we involve ourselves in such initiatives and why, and what are the current initiatives happening here in the Netherlands?
We will screen a brief but inspiring (20 min) video interview in which Pauline Westendorp (Energie Cooperatie Zuiderlicht) talks with John di Stasio (of Sacremento’s SMUD energy cooperative) on the subject of how to operate a successful energy cooperative.
Dr Matthijs Hisschemöller (VU University Institute for Environmental Studies) will also be present to talk about the Dutch energy cooperatives he is involved with and their current progress.
