To celebrate the beginning of summer we invite you to the Waiting Room Festival! The fest is brought to you by In Love With Freedom, together with Bruja Kru, some anarchist kids and kids from the house.
The Waiting Room Festival is hosted in Poortgebouw, an old house on the riverside of Rotterdam. For two days there will be a lot of fast and great music and bands, vegan food, cocktails, afterparties, politcal talks, friends, hugs, bad humor and other stuff...

So you heard we do music and politics, right? Well, we also do FOOD! Waiting Room Fest will be catered by our friends from Just like your mom vegan catering. Award-winning, natural, organic and wholesome plant food! So, first things first, here's the food schedule:

Mom's Chili Burgers!!!
The idea of creating a burger of our own started out in 2012 when Mom won a prize for a self-made chili sauce during the Dutch Chili Fest. After months of testing and tweaking the recipe, it has resulted into an artisan bean burger with no less then 22 natural and organic ingredients.

Sometime, somewhere, moving from squat to squat, a local squatter found the holy grail of Rotterdam squatting history: a shoebox full of old squat video's on VHS. We will bring them to you during the Waiting Room festival, supplemented with other archive footage and presented by a local squatter who still remembers the good old days of squatting in Rotterdam.
//CALL-OUT FOR SOLIDARITY with H40 in Oslo
Squatted in 1999, the autonomous housing collective H40/Vestbredden, its residents and wider community, have provided countless support to other (international) collectives through solidarity actions and benefits. Now its our turn to return the favour....
Home to the infamous Barrikaden venue, Cinema Ambiviolence and an infoshop, the space and house is integral not only to their local scene, but for our wider international community. They're facing eviction after being sold into private ownership last month. We'll be raising funds for them as one of the benefits over the weekend. Member(s) of their collective will be joining us by video call to spread the word about their current situation, new autonomous solidarity actions (occupations) and how we can get involved...

//////Fest will happen in Poortgebouw community, 35 years old legalized squat, crazy house where a lot of good and bad things happened! However we are always trying to improve the atmosphere of our events and make them welcoming for everyone! Also our shitty scene is becoming more and more ignorant on everything what is happening worldwide and streetwide. So we want to raise some political discussions and create - at least for one weekend - the space for exchanging radical ideas, ways of life and experiences of DIY culture and self-organized housing communities.

The Waitingroom fest wants you to come and have a great time listening to bands, lectures, watch documentaries and most of all have loads of fun being there!
In order to help everyone coming to have a good time we want to make the Waitingroomfest a safer space. This means we want all of you to feel welcome, respected an comfortable. For this reason we will not tolerate behavior that is racist, ageist, sexist, heterosexist, transphobic, ablebodiest, classist, sizist, or any other oppressive behavior or language.
In order to do this we will have some people at the fest that you can talk to, sit down with and/or ask for help if you find yourself in a situation that you need this. The people will be recognizable by wearing glowsticks (Yes! Shiny stuff indeed). On the fest itself we will also be reachable by phone!
