This Friday, the 18th August, it’s finally happening! The Connecting Movements Camp (CoMo Camp) will start. And meanwhile, we even managed to find a place: We are situated directly next to the Climate Camp at Lahey-Park near Erkelenz (Cologne region, Germany). You can find directions here. And today (15.8.) our collective camp building and open organizing meeting is starting – if you’re motivated, come and join us already, and help prepare the camp with us!
What is CoMo again?
From the 18th to the 29th of August, the CoMo Camp is bringing together people from different social struggles and movements to develop new perspectives for emancipatory politics. We often struggle with different focuses – climate justice, freedom of movement and the right to stay, antifascism, queer feminisms, or food sovereignty – in different places, and little time is left for exchange.
But the more diverse our backgrounds, the more we can learn from each other! We want to discuss questions, utopias and strategies of different struggles and spectrums. The CoMo Camp is opening up a space for networking and reflection to empower us for collective action and enable social movements to move forward!
Program
At CoMo Camp, we will mainly work with Open Spaces – everyone can contribute topics for discussion and ideas for workshops of all kinds, and self-organize to carry them into action. Here you can find an overview of our daily structure and here is a list of all workshops already announced. If you want to facilitate a workshop or discuss a certain topic, write us at connecting-movements-camp@riseup.net. Or just announce it at the camp!
From the 18th to 23rd August, the focus of the camp lies on education and networking. From the 24th to 29th, we take part in the action days in the Rhineland. We are camping directly next to Climate Camp, so you can easily participate in events and life at both camps!
We are super excited to meet you, to exchange thoughts and ideas, and struggle and party together!
Yours,
the CoMos <3
