The country that was previously known as the Latin American "oasis” is today recognized as having one of the highest rates of social inequality in the world.
The country that was previously known as the Latin American "oasis” is today recognized as having one of the highest rates of social inequality in the world. In Chile, the economy is prioritized over people; this once again becomes evident with the current health crisis. The social demands that constituted the social outbreak of October 18, today are reiterated with more force and confirm that Chile's economic model is also diseased. Throughout the documentary, the interviewees relate from their experiences the abuses of the neoliberal system imposed by the dictatorship and which are further exacerbated in the pandemic.
Many Chileans, especially the poorest, are going through more difficult times than ever. This Sunday we will launch this documentary to strengthen and accompany those who are affected by the health crisis.
