CrossOverCamp occupies nazi meeting point.

rond 100 deelnemers aan het CrossOvercamp in Cottbus bezetten tankstation dat een nazi ontmoetingsplaats is en waar een week geleden een Cubaanse man zwaar gewond werd geslagen door nazis.
Succesfull occupation of Nazi meeting point
Fridaynight august 9th about 100 participants of the Cross Over Summercamp succesfully occupied a DEA petrol station in Cottbus Sandow. For the last 2 years Neonazis used this as a place to meet. In Germany neonazis are used to meet at petrol stations.
Saturday august 3rd the nazis had beaten up a Cuban man at the same petrol station. The action was colorful,peaceful, people played football, badminton and danced to the music of the soundsystem. The reasons for the action were explained to the neighbourhood with this soundsystem and by handing out leaflets. We received lots of nice reactions from their side but also some negative ones.
At first the nazis stayed but when tension grew the police force of about 100 'Bullen' send them away and forbid them officially to stay on the petrol station. So in the end 50 nazis stood on the other side of the road. However, only for this night.
Nevertheless, this action was a succes because of the direct intervention in the usually unquestioned meetings.
These nazi places are a daily threath to all who are ' different'. Because of the aim of the Cross over Summercamp - to question 'normalities' such as heterosexism, (hidden)racism and capitalism and to defend the diversity amongst people - we had to strongly oppose these practises.
