Traffic with human beings is almost official in today's Romania.
A reporter from “Sunday Telegraph” uncovered traffic with children in and from Romania. According to our fellow Englishmen, he was literally assaulted with offers. The reporter simply uncovered the lid of a heavy traffic with human beings - most of the children were bought to work for their masters, usually as beggars. Some of them were intentionally maimed, to serve as beggars. One boy, which refused to beg, was beaten to death, then burned and thrown at Munchen's periphery - an ongoing German inquiry reveals. About 50 kids were bought by such an exploiting gang, to beg in Western EU. According to a spokesman of "Salvati Copii" only two persons were condemned for human traffic, insofar. Amazingly, an EU commission recently gave Romania a good note for progresses on children protection issues. Were they bribed or fooled by our lovely "social-democrat" government? The ethnic origin of persons implicated in this traffic was not disclosed.
