Italy: Leaders, activists of Anti-imperialist Camp, Turkish revolutionaries arrested
Supporters of the liberation struggles against American imperialism targeted
This morning three militants of the Anti-imperialist Camp have been arrested
by order of the prosecutor’s office of Perugia: Moreno Pasquinelli
(international spokesman of the Anti-imperialist Camp), Maria Frazia
Ardizzone (member of the Political Committee of the Anti-imperialist Camp)
and Alessia Monteverdi.
Simultaneously at least one Turkish comrade has been arrested in the same
operation. Other unconfirmed arrests are reported from Belgium, the
Netherlands, Germany, Greece and Turkey.
It seems that the accusation against the activists of the Anti-imperialist
Camp is to have helped Turkish revolutionary militants who had been forced
into exile by the regime in Ankara where the military still pull the
strings.
The media campaign of criminalisation led first of all by Magdi Allam in the
pages of “Corriere della Sera” seems to bear its first fruits.
Only yesterday afternoon we symbolically occupied the Roman office of
Corriere della Sera to protest the campaign of defamation and persecution
against the Anti-imperialist Camp.
Today’s arrests are obviously a reprisal against all those who support the
resistance and liberation struggle of the Iraqi people against the barbaric
and illegitimate occupation led by the US and its allies, among them Italy.
On March 20 more than one million Italians affirmed the right of the Iraqi
people to resist and many of the demonstrators expressed their open and
clear support to the Iraqi resistance.
This is frightening the Italian government and the political class of all
proveniences who are unified in their all out support for Washington’s
doctrine of the American Empire. There are terrified that the masses refuse
their mystifying equation “ resistance = terrorism”. It is the same equation
postulated by the Nazi occupants known under “Achtung Banditen”. This
formula is being used to cover any crime of the Empire of Stares and Stripes
and its servile allies in their struggle against the anti-imperialist
resistance throughout the world.
The operation carried out by the Italian police against the Anti-imperialist
Camp and the Turkish militants inscribes itself in the very same logic of
global repression in the service of American dominium.
The police action of today is clearly a political one designed to repress
the surging movement against the occupation by smashing its vanguard. One
evidence is that the arrest warrants bears the data of February 23!
The events of today are sign of a qualitative increase of the level of
repression in our country. Applying the notorious “anti-terrorist
legislation” of article 270bis the detained are denied access to an advocate
for five days depriving them of any right to legal defence.
They want to smash the Anti-imperialist Camp in order to smash all the
anti-imperialists and all those who oppose the pre-emptive and permanent war
of Bush.
We call upon all those who struggle against the US world order, upon all
those who took to the streets on March 20 to demand the end of the
occupation of Iraq, upon all those democrats who defend the right to free
political expression against the logic of repression unleashed by the
totalitarism of the dominant “corporate thought” to take immediate action
and to make their voices heard.

Italien: AktivistInnen der AIK und türkische Revolutionäre verhaftet
Unterstützer von Befreiungskämpfen gegen US-Imperialismus im Visier
Heute morgen wurden drei AktivistInnen der Antiimperialistischen Koordination in Italien auf Befehl der Staatsanwaltschaft in Perugia (Umbrien) verhaftet:
Moreno Pasquinelli (internationaler Sprecher der Antiimperialistischen Koordination), Maria-Grazia Ardizzone (Mitglied des politschen Komitees der Antiimperialistischen Koordination) und Alessia Monteverdi.
In der gleichen Aktion wurde mindestens ein Genosse aus der Türkei verhaftet. Es gibt weitere, unbestätigte Meldungen über Festnahmen in Belgien, den Niederlanden, Griechenland und der Türkei.
Es scheint dass die Vorwürfe gegen die Aktivisten der Antiimperialistischen Koordination darin bestehen, den türkischen revolutionären AktivistInnen geholfen zu haben. Diese Aktivistinnen waren vom Regime in Ankara – wo immer noch das Militär das Sagen hat – ins Exil gezwungen worden.
Die Medienkampagne zur Kriminalisierung war in Italien von Magdi Allam im "Corriere della Sera" angeführt worden und scheint nun erste Früchte zu tragen.
Erst gestern nachmittags hatten wir symbolisch die Büros des "Corriere della Sera" in Rom besetzt um gegen die Hetzkampagne gegen die Antiimperialistische Koordination zu protestieren.
Die heutigen Festnahmen sind offensichtlich eine Strafmaßnahme gegen alle, die den Widerstands- und Befreiungskampf des irakischen Volks gegen die barbarische und illegale Besatzung durch die USA und ihre Verbündeten – darunter Italien – unterstützen.
Am 20. März 2004 unterstützte mehr als eine Million ItalienerInnen das Recht des irakischen Volks auf Widerstands, viele der Demonstranten drückten offen und klar ihre Unterstützung des irakischen Widerstands aus.
Das hat der italienischen Regierung und den politischen Kasten aller Parteien einen gehörigen Schreck eingejagt, denn sie stehen vereint hinter der US-Doktrin vom Amerikanischen Reich. Dass die Massen ihre Gleichseitzung "Widerstand=Terror" nicht kaufen, hat sie schockiert. Es ist die selbe Gleichsetzung, welche die Nazi-Besatzungstruppen propagiert hatten: "Achtung Banditen". Diese Formel wird nun vom Reich des Sternenbanners und seinen untertänigsten Dienern im Kampf gegen den antiimperialistischen Widerstand weltweit verwendet.
Diese Aktion der italienischen Partei gegen die Antiimperialistische Koordination und die AktivistInnen aus der Türkei passt perfekt zur Logik der internationalen Unterdrückung im Dienst des Amerikanischen Reichs.
Die heutige Polizeiaktion ist ganz klar politisch motiviert um die aufstrebende Bewegung gegen die Besatzung zu unterdrücken, indem ihre Avantgarde zerschlagen werden soll. Ein Hinweis darauf ist dass die Haftbefehle das Datum 23. Februar tragen!
Die heutigen Ereignisse sind ein Zeichen für eine signifikante Steigerung der Unterdrückung in Italien. Der Paragraph 270 Absatz 2 der notorischen "Antiterror-Gesetzgebung" wird nun eingesetzt um den Verhafteten den Zugang zu Anwälten für fünft Tage zu verwehren, sie haben so keinerlei Möglichkeit einer juristischen Verteidigung.
Sie wollen die Antiimperialistische Koordination zerschlagen um alle antiimperialistischen Kräfte und alle, die sich gegen Bushs permanenten Präventivkrieg aussprechen.
Wir rufen alle, die gegen die US-amerikanische Weltordnung kämpfen auf, alle, die am 20. März für ein Ende der Besatzung im Irak demonstrierten, alle Demokraten, die das Recht auf politische freie Meinungsäußerung gegen die totalitäre Unterdrückung durch das dominante Einheitsdenken verteidigen, auf, sofort zu handeln und die Stimme zu erheben.

ISTANBUL - Colloquy on dialogue between Europe and the Middle East, which will be organized by Council of Europe Parliamentary General Assembly's Sub-Committee on the Middle East, and the Assembly's Chairmanship Council meeting will be held in Istanbul between April 6 and 7.
Releasing a written statement, Parliamentary National Palaces Department said on Friday that Chairmanship Council meeting in which Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc will participate and the colloquy would be held in the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
Arinc will inaugurate the Chairmanship Council meeting on April 6.
The colloquy will be held on April 7.

An die 1.500 Personen haben eine Unterstützungserklärung für die am 13. Dezember in Rom stattfindende Solidaritätsdemonstration mit dem irakischen Widerstand unterzeichnet. Unter den Unterstützern dieser vom Campo Antiimperialista organisierten Demonstration befinden sich Rechtsextremisten, Holocaustleugner und Neofaschisten.
