Debate about migration in Maastricht Dear Ladies and Gentlemen! Alert Maastricht presents: Debate about migration. The Alert Platform from Maastricht, an organization with the intention to stimulate discussions within the University of Maastricht, will organize a panel discussion on the issue of migration. Recent changes in the Dutch migration policy and current developments on the European level to harmonize migration policies indicate that this topic became one of the core issues on the political agenda. In order to gain insights into the different positions we will provide a stage for different actors, from different backgrounds, with different views and perceptions, to exchange arguments and to contest each others positions. This will include on the one hand the invited speakers, like you, but on the other hand also the audience to create an open debate. In order to ensure a certain level of consistency the moderator Mat Verberkt from TV Limburg will coordinate the interaction between the speakers. The debate will focus around the possible economic, social and cultural implicat ions of migration for society. However, depending on the exact composition of the speakers this might be further narrowed down. We would like to invite you to take part in this debate.
