Authority and violence

Authority can only exist if its credibility is recognized.
Violence can be used as a tool to attack authority when its legality is being doubted.
Violence can be used by authority to restore its power.
Authority is not necessarily linked to violence. It links itself to it by misusing its power to maintain power. Authority also uses violence as an example to those who show disrespect.
If necessary, authority will explain that the punishment given was a just punishment. It was a logic reaction to the illegal rebellious act that questioned its legal power by showing disrespect.
In this way, authorities violence becomes legal, explained as just.
This is very smart.
If people are questioning authority by showing disrespect in for example violating its property, authority can easily get away with using violence as a punishment even if rebels get very hurt or might even die.
In this way, the victims of authority maintain their status as violator. These violators had it coming. Their injuries or deaths become their own responsibility.
Three cases came to mind:
Case 1
The manager of a Dirk supermarket trained his workers to protect his property. If people were questioning the authority of his shop by stealing, workers would go after them, beating them up or locking them up or both.
A woman was suspected of stealing dog food. She was chased and beaten for the protection of property and the restoring of the authority of the proprietors. She died after the beating.
The manager of the shop did not take responsibility for the action of the workers. Changing reality around, a lot of guilt was lifted from their shoulders .The woman, criminalizing herself by looking like a homeless person, running away from her attackers, had put herself in this situation. Next to this the fatal internal bleedings that caused her death, were linked to the fact that she had wrecked her weakened body, already suffering from aids, even more by being an alcoholic. A healthy person might have survived the beating.
Case 2
A homeless person tried to sleep on the street, state’s well protected property. He was brought to the police station. After given a fine or being in a cell a few hours or both, they decided to get rid of him again. He refused, since he did not agree with the treatment he got. They threw him down the stairs and that’s were he died.
Changing reality around, they stated that they were not responsible for his death since he had brought himself in this situation, consciously lacking respect for state’s authority by sleeping on its property. Secondly he was wearing himself out by leading a life on the street and being an alcoholic. This caused him not to survive the fall from the stairs.
Case 3
If a drunk after already being kicked out still refuses to leave and start kicking our door, violating our door, violating the peace in our street, we grab our clubs giving him a just punishment for his disrespect of our authority. This is our house in our fucking street. That fact should be well respected!
Let’s not question our responsibility in Yoghurt’s case. If the public questions the violence being used, we can simply change reality around. We can say that he had it coming. We can say that he would not have been hurt so bad, if he would not have been a hopeless drunk. His body would have withstood the beating better.
In all cases violence is being used to protect property, to punish, to restore authority of the proprietors.
We do not want to be represented by a bunch of egocentric proprietors showing their authority by using violence, do we?
More important then our house in our street, are the ideas we started of with. Let’s respect those ideas! Let’s show some respect to Yoghurt, whose life got pretty much ruined because we went into the wrong direction.
Cause:
We do not respect the authority of the aristocratic state. We do not respect the authority of organizations protecting the state: the army, the police.
So we should not act like them.
We should rack their authority instead!
Unless we think those ideas are from the past, we have to act, opening up, starting a discussion, taking responsibility. Something went very wrong, already for some time. If people are afraid to talk, afraid of being criticized because of their ideas in this issue, we can always write. Let’s do it!

geen vertaling maar een samenvatting (met excuses voor imprecisie)
autoriteiten rechtvaardigen hun gebruik van geweld en het ligt aan degene die het ondergaat. De realiteit wordt omgedraaid. Zo wordt geweld legaal en legitiem. Slim.
3 voorbeelden:
1. een supermarktmanager vertelt zijn personeel dat ze iedereen die de eigendomsrechten van de Dirk niet respecteert te grazen moet worden genomen. Een paar jongens doen dat ook en schoppen een vrouw dood. Maar in plaats van verantwoordelijkheid te nemen wordt de schuld afgeschoven op de vrouw: ze had het er zelf naar gemaakt, had al aids en was dronken. En anders had ze die klappen niet gekregen of overleefd.
2. een dakloze wordt om niks opgepakt en vastgezet. Na een paar uur wordt hij weer uit zijn cel gelaten maar hij wil niet gaan omdat hij kwaad is vanwege de manier waarop hij wordt behandeld. De smeris gooit hem van de trap en hij is dood. Maar de dakloze krijgt de schuld: hij luisterde niet naar de staat en was sowieso een dronkenlap die anders wel de val had overleefd
3. Als een dronkaard eruit is gegooid en weigert te vertrekken. Als hij op onze deur trapt, onze deur schendt, de vrede in onze straat schaadt, dan pakken we onze knuppels en geven hem een rechtvaardige straf voor zijn gebrek aan respect voor onze autoriteit. Dit is ons huis in onze fuckin' straat. Dat feit moet worden gerespecteerd!
Laten we niet onze verantwoordelijkheid im frage stellen. Als het publiek vragen stelt bij het geweld, draaien we gewoon de realiteit om. Het ligt aan hem en als hij niet zo hopeloze dronkaard was geweest had zijn lichaam die klappen beter kunnen verdragen.
In al deze voorbeelden wordt geweld gebruikt om bezit te beschermen, te straffen om de autoriteit van de eigenaren te herstellen.
We willen toch niet vertegenwoordigd worden door een bende egocentrische uitbaters die hun autoriteit moeten tonen met geweld, of wel?
Belangrijker dan ons huis in onze straat, zijn de ideeen waar we mee begonnen. Laten we die ideeen respecteren! Laat ons wat respect tonen aan Yoghurt wiens leven pretty much ruined is omdat wij de verkeerde kant op gingen.
We respecteren niet de autoriteit van de aristocratische staat. we respecteren niet de autoriteit van organisaties die de staat beschermen; het leger, de smeris.
Dus we moeten niet zoals zij handelen.
We moeten hun autoriteiten slopen!
Tenzij we denken dat die ideeen tot het verleden behoren, moeten we handelen. Openen. Een discussie starten. Iets is heel erg verkeerd gegaan, en dat was al langere tijd zo. Als mensen bang zijn om te praten, bang om bekritiseerd te worden vanwege hun ideeen over dit issue, dan kunnen we altijd schrijven. Let's do it!

Als je dan wat op het net schrijft zorg dan in ieder geval dat datgene wat je schrijft klopt. Dat geval van die junk die uit een bureau verwijderd werd is maar het halve verhaal. De ware reden dat de agenten vrij zijn gesproken is dat de desbetreffende junk de vervelende neiging had om zichzelf achterover te laten vallen als hij zijn zin niet kreeg. Dus voor je dingen roept wel eventjes goede research doen. Maar ik snap het wel het werkelijke verhaal is niet zo smeuig.

Beste mede-kraker-sters,
Naar aanleiding van het steeds smeriger wordende moddergevecht rond het drama in de Vrankrijk, heeft de redactie van Indymedia.nl besloten postings en commentaren over dit onderwerp voortaan te verwijderen.
Voor wijzen met het vingertje, mea culpa's en ich habe es nicht gewusts, wordt u vriendelijk verzocht voortaan direct contact met de betrokkenen te zoeken. Vooral nu de Vrankrijk zelf contact met de buitenwereld aangaat en er face to face over wil gaan communiceren.Dit om te voorkomen dat Indymedia.nl binnenkort door de Story wordt opgekocht of mensen door artikelen in ons eigen sufferdje achter tralies terecht komen.
Wij hopen hierbij op jullie begrip.
