No Border Network weekend: june 1-3, Den Dolder
Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd of June there will be a No Border weekend about resistance and protest against the current migration policy.
It's goal is to discuss strategies of this resistance in the future and to start up a No Border network in the Netherlands: a closer cooperation between groups and individuals, so that information and knowledge can be exchanged faster and structures for faster mobilization will come into existence.
Except for discussion, we also plan a noise demo at Kamp Zeist. If the action camp at Ter Apel is still there, we will also drop the planned Sunday program in favor of a jointly trip over there to support the action.
The meeting will take place in Den Dolder, close to Utrecht.
(route description will be mailed to you upon listing.)
We feel that a discussion about strategy is necessary in order to learn from the good and the bad aspects so we can talk about a strategy for the future. The weekend is also aiming to shape a No Border network structure: a network that presumes some shared ideas, but also has room for everyone to act as they want.
The goal of the network is to come to a collaboration between groups and individuals so that information and knowledge can be exchanged faster. For acute requests we can then appeal to the network.
Also it can play an important role in the mobilization of people when there is an action initiative. A good start is made with the noise demo tour to three detention centers on Sunday may 6th.
Aside of discussion, which will fill the Saturday, there is room for an action brainstorm (friday night). We will however not just talk, but also act: Saturday night we've planned a noise demo at the nearby detention center Kamp Zeist in Soesterberg.
On Sunday there will be several workshops, about the situation regarding Frontex (info about Boats 4 People), the situation in detention centers, the connection between aid and action, blacklisting and connections to other areas of social struggle. Also the up to date situation regarding the action that now takes place in Ter Apel will come up for discussion. If the action camp is still there by the time, then the workshop will be dropped and we will jointly travel to Ter Apel to support the action there.
Do you want to come? Than please sign up at the latest on Sunday May 27th via email at noborder-nl@riseup.net. You can also mail us if you have any questions.
We hope to see you during this weekend!
