Solidarity with hunger striker Dimitris Koufontinas

On 5 February 2021, we hang a banner in solidarity with the hunger striker Dimitris Koufontinas at the squat of Afrin, Amsterdam.

Dimitris Koufontinas, political prisoner, on 8/1/2021 began a hunger strike against the retaliatory treatment by the state and law enforcement agencies.
On 16/1/2021 he was abducted from his cell to the hospital of Lamia against his will. In the face of this condition, the comrades, Giannis Dimitrakis and Nikos Maziotis (a member of the Revolutionary Struggle), political prisoners and themselves in Domokou prison, started a hunger strike supporting the comrade’s demand. The comrades with this move, demonstrate in practice the great and special importance of the concepts of solidarity and collective struggle.
Dimitris Koufontinas is recorded in the historical memory ory of the movement. As a communist, as peoples fighter, an unrepentant revolutionary, as a rebel who practically challenged the state monopoly of violence, returning a share of the daily violence imposed by capital, state and imperialist mechanisms.
