Wanneer: 23/03/2024 - 20:00
On the 23rd of March, we invite you to a screening of a series of short films by a Belarusian filmmaker. She, having witnessed the democratic uprisal in Belarus in 2020, presents a deeply personal view of these events.
The first film, titled "Dear Revolution," is a recollection of the 2020 protests in Belarus, experienced both inside the country and later at a distance, in the Netherlands. Following that, "Call Me Home" is a video-audio composition of poetry that explores the emotions of isolation and the loss of home. The latest work, "Searching for a Blue Bird," delves into themes of crisis, inspiration, and the quest for self-determination.
These films encapsulate her personal journey, reflecting on the experience of immigration and expressing empathy towards the social movement that once united people against the autocracy in Belarus. The screening will include live commentary from the author, who will be present at the event.
