Firestarter, het crowdfundingsplatform specifiek voor onze beweging, gaat eindelijk echt lanceren! Kom naar de opening op de Anarchistische Boekenbeurs Amsterdam (ABFA)! Op de vrijdagavond is de lancering van Firestarter zelf. De rest van het ABFA weekend kun je ons vinden.
Meld nu alvast je campagne aan, om geld op te halen voor je politieke project of actie!

Eindelijk is het zover! Firestarter kan echt gaan beginnen!
Op 25 oktober opent Firestarter, hét crowdfunding platform voor activisten en sociale bewegingen, haar digitale deuren voor donaties op haar eerste crowdfunding campagnes.

Hieronder volgt wat verder informatie en een beschrijving van de tijd sinds de crowdfund campagne die Firestarter heeft mogelijk gemaakt.

De stilte voor de storm
Voor de buitenwereld is Firestarter sinds het najaar van 2022 stil geweest, maar intern hebben we een spannende tijd gehad. Firestarter is in februari 2022 begonnen met een crowdfunding campagne om een radicaal politiek crowdfunding platform neer te zetten. Dit kwam na een lange periode van plannen, brainstormen, contacten leggen en het analyseren van onze situatie.
De campagne voorliep voorspoedig en in oktober 2022 had Firestarter alle benodigde donaties ontvangen. De stichting van Firestarter werd ook in die tijd opgericht, en de software voor het crowdfunding platform was ook al af.
Het enige obstakel voor onze lancering was het verkrijgen van een bankrekening. Tijdens onze crowdfundcampagne om Firestarter op te zetten, begon de Russische invasie van Oekraïne. Onder andere naar aanleiding van deze invasie veranderden de regels voor toezicht op financiën. Dit verhoogde de werkdruk van banken. Vooral voor crowdfunding werd het toezicht strenger. Veel banken hadden ellenlange wachtrijen of hielden tijdelijk op met stichtingen en verenigingen inschrijven als klant. Zeker als crowdfundplatform was het moeilijk om aan een bankrekening te komen.
Omdat wij als Firestarter geen uitsluitsel konden geven over wanneer we daadwerkelijk konden lanceren, communiceerden we geen nieuwe lanceerdatum. Zo’n datum zouden we misschien niet kunnen waarmaken, en dat zou ook vervelend zijn. Op de achtergrond bleven we aan het werk om een bankrekening te verkrijgen.
Nu is dat eindelijk gelukt!
Wij zijn ontzettend blij om mede te kunnen delen dat alle moeite, alle steun en al het vertrouwen vanuit onze omgeving eindelijk de vruchten gaat afwerpen die wij voor ogen hebben, en waar we al zo lang naartoe werken.
Ondanks de lange stilte zijn we onverminderd enthousiast. We kijken ernaar uit om de financiën van onze bewegingen een enorme boost te geven!
Op naar de lancering/launch!
De komende maand werken we hard om alles klaar te maken voor de lancering van het platform Firestarter op 25 oktober 2024!
Daarnaast zijn we iedereen aan het vertellen dat Firestarter binnenkort lanceert. “Heb jij al gehoord van Firestarter?”
Daarbij kunnen we ook hulp gebruiken: - Help jij ons door het verder te vertellen dat Firestarter binnenkort live gaat? Je kunt ook dit bericht doorsturen, of onze social media berichten delen.
- We zoeken groepen, projecten die willen crowdfunden op Firestarter. Wil jij een crowdfund campagne beginnen, of ken je iemand die dat misschien wil? Je kunt je campagne aanmelden via de website. Als je je campagne voor 25 oktober aanmeldt, dan nemen we die mee in onze opening op de ABFA!
We kijken ernaar uit om onze bewegingen vooruit te helpen met een financiële nieuwe steunpilaar!

The time has finally come! Firestarter is really about to launch!
On October 25th, Firestarter, the crowdfunding platform activists and social movements, will open its digital doors for donations to the first crowdfunding campaigns it hosts.

We want to warmly thank everyone who has supported us with donations, help, encouragement, or in the countless other ways we were helped along the way. We are chomping at the bit to start making these plans a reality.
Will you spread the word? Will you help people realize that Firestarter is coming? You can already sign your campaign up through our website. If you do so before October 25th we’ll proces it as soon as possible and include it in the platforms’ opening on the ABFA. Can’t make it to the opening on friday? The silence before the storm
To the outside world, Firestarter has been quiet since the fall of 2022, but internally we’ve had quite a ride. Firestarter began its crowdfunding campaign to create a politically radical crowdfunding platform in February of 2022. This was the result of a long preliminary period of planning, brainstorming, making contacts and analyzing the situation around us.
The campaign went well, we were blessed with a lot of support from comrades around us, and by October 2022 Firestarter had received all the donations required to get started. At the same time we completed the process to create a legal entity for Firestarter, and most of the software required to run the platform we imagined was also completed at that time.
The sole obstacle blocking our full launch was getting a bank account. At the same time that we were gathering funds for this new platform, the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. With this war in view, the legislation regarding financial supervision changed, increasing the workload for banks. Supervision increased especially for crowdfunding platforms. Many banks had long waitlists or for a while stopped onboarding foundations and associations altogether. Especially for a crowdfunding platform such as Firestarter, it was very difficult to acquire a bank account and other financial services.
This meant that we were unsure when Firestarter would be able to launch. For that reason we opted not to set a new launch date, avoiding the risk of having to delay it again. All seemed quiet, but in the background we kept working to acquire the bank account and other financial services we needed to be able to launch.
And now we finally have it!
We are burning with joy to be able to announce that all the effort, all the help and support, all the trust invested in us by the people around us, all these things will finally start bearing the fruits we envision and that we’ve been working towards for such a long time.
Despite the long silence, we are no less excited than we were at the beginning! We look forward to helping provide a massive boost to the financial strength of our movements!

This coming month we are hard at work to arrange everything for Firestarter’s launch on October 25th 2024!
We’re also quite busy telling everyone about our upcoming launch. “Have you heard about FIrestarter yet?”

If you sign your campaign up before May 14th, we’ll process you as soon as possible and we’ll include your campaign in our fiery opening on the Pinksterlanddagen festival!
